Childcare Apprentice Level 2 NVQ

Location: Wellesbourne | Job starts: 21st March 2021 | Start salary: | £4.30 per hour | Request info

Job Description: Our priority, always, is our children’s wellbeing, care and development. We achieve this with extremely high staff retention and a trust that we have built with our children, parents, suppliers and partners with whom we work. That trust is built on the reputation we have for extremely high standards in everything we do and we are constantly looking for ways to improve the service we offer. Whether you’re an existing parent, a parent-to-be or a commercial partner, we’d love to hear from you. We have many assets that set us apart from others, but we believe that the following areas are key to our success. We encourage baby signing as a way of interacting with our youngest children. Babies use all kinds of signs and gestures as a natural part of learning to talk. Your baby will recognise important words sooner and can use the signs to “talk” to you before speech. We will encourage your baby with extra signs like ‘milk’, ‘more’, ‘change nappy’ or ‘tired’, all of which will help you and your baby communicate! Whilst many nurseries follow the EYFS during term-time, our programme of learning extends throughout the year. This gives continuity and allows the children to constantly develop and achieve new goals. Our staff are key to our ongoing success. Their energy, enthusiasm, dedication, passion and huge sense of fun make us what we are and gives our children the very best care possible. Our carers are responsible for caring for and developing your child, not to carry out daily maintenance – we leave this to our dedicated housekeeping staff. In order to maintain our high standards of care we engage with outside practitioners for advice on all areas of our business so that we can be objective and constantly review how we do things – there’s always room to improve, no matter how small. A reflective practice ensures that we are continually improving the quality of care and education we provide to encourage every child to reach their potential at their pace. We take great pride in our facilities and every care is taken to ensure that our equipment, toys, furnishings and learning materials are maintained to the highest standards. Housekeeping plays a huge role in our day to day tasks and is carried out by dedicated staff, not your child’s carers.

Duties: The main responsibilities of this job role will include: Supporting the development of the childcare provision Providing an excellent range of activities that ensures that the child learns whilst having fun Assisting the facility in meeting OFSTED requirements Being a team player Providing challenging and stimulating activities for all children appropriately Undertaking First Aid training as required Undertaking training as appropriate to meet any changes in standards or appropriate legal requirements as required Ensuring that all Health and Hygiene requirements are adhered to at all times Responsibility for equal opportunity in delivery, access and attitude in aspects of service delivery and management Working with teams across the Centre Supporting children’s learning and development, including supporting planning and observations Preparing and maintaining the environment and resources for the children Preparation of food for breakfast, snack and afternoon tea Supporting children’s self-help needs Being creative and enthusiastic Following safeguarding rules Working within confidentiality guidelines

Childcare Apprentice Level 2 NVQ

Location: Loughborough | Job starts: 21st March 2021 | Start salary: | £4.30 per hour | Request info

Job Description: The original Watermead Day Nursery was designed and built by my father Peter Allen next door to the original family property back in 2004. Since then it has matured into a family run, Ofsted Oustanding facility of which we are immensely proud. Such has been its popularity that in 2016, after much soul-searching, it expanded to include our family home, Brook Farm House. Combined, the two properties now offer childcare from birth to 11 years old in a stimulus rich environment we don’t think is matched in the region. We pride ourselves on offering the best childcare in the most stimulating, safe and secure environment, where children can have the best experiences. We firmly believe this dedication to childcare, which we insist upon from all involved in Watermead, reflects in the positive feedback we receive from not only our own children, Sienna and Scarlett who regularly attend but also from all the other children at the setting. ?Being parents ourselves has helped to shape the nursery, the philosophy and ethos and we are the only nursery in the region who actively follows the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education. This is an innovative and inspiring approach to early childcare education which uses the children’s deep curiosity to drive their interest and to help them understand their world and their place within it. It fundamentally allows the child to construct their own learning and gain understanding through their individual interests, with an emphasis on hands-on discovery. This encourages children in our care to use all their senses and all their languages to learn and is epitomized in the poem "The Hundred Languages of Children ?What also makes us stand out from the other providers is our attention to staffing, and what the best staff in the business can bring. We have an in-house chef, responsible for producing a home-made, nutritional and healthy menu, a pre-school qualified teacher, who helps smooth the transition from nursery life to full time education and a sports coach, who runs in-house sports and physical education sessions. We run regular movement and music classes through Kimble’s and have an extensive forest school using both the nursery facilities and the local Outwoods to further develop and stimulate the children.
